hackers from accessing your data, without security you are putting everything on your computer in danger. Security at all levels is a critical part of every computer-using business. You can never know who is trying to get hold of your data - but you're the one who should be in control.

That's where we come in. As a standard, every system we install will be checked and where possible use the tightest security controls to enable effective management and security.

Just some of the protection we always look to implement and improve include:

Internet Security/Firewalls

To stop external/internet-based intruders accessing your network a router with an effective and properly configured firewall should be installed. Any servers allowing external access should be contained within a DMZ network separate from internal-only systems. We use both software (Microsoft ISA Server and others) and hardware firewalls to meet the required security level and budget. Incoming

VPN security should also be implemented at all levels to avoid the inherent risks.

Proxy Servers
For monitoring and auditing what employees are accessing and to filter inappropriate sites.

Microsoft Active Directory Security
Users should have strong passwords and should be restricted to only access what they need to. It is essential that Group Policy and Permissions to files and folders are set correctly to ensure this. The user may accidentally pick up a virus and good baseline security paired with an up-to-date AV scanner will minimise the impact.

Wireless Security
It is absolutely imperative to make sure full wireless security is in place. A wireless signal doesn't stop at the office walls, someone with a laptop could connect to your internal network out of hours and cause serious problems. 128bit encryption and maybe even MAC address filtering should definitely be used.
